How should wood pellets be stored?
Keeping pellets dry is the central storage requirement. Moisture can make pellets swell and break down, which is especially problematic for automatic feed systems. Prepare the storage area before the delivery arrives.
Choose a dry protected area
Keep pellet bags under cover and away from rain or snow. Avoid direct contact with a damp concrete floor or the ground. In colder spaces, also consider the possibility of condensation.
Keep bags intact
Inspect packaging when the order arrives. Separate any torn or wet bags for closer checking. Keep sharp objects away from the bags and arrange the stock so individual bags remain accessible.
Plan the route from the vehicle
Measure the storage area and plan how the goods will move from the unloading point. Confirm bag weight, bag count and total pallet weight in the quotation. If carrying to a storage room is required, agree that service separately.
